    Hi
I have purhcased a VFR750 1984 3 months ago. i am very pleased with bike and performance however have a couple of questions other users may be able to help with

    1. I find after long rides i get sore arms and a very sore neck. This is due to the angle my head is on to see i guess ie bent back all the time.
Has anybody made changes to their bikes to accomodate this?

    2. At speed around a corner I feel as though the front end is going to slip out from me. Note sure if that is my paranoia or this is a symptom of the bike. PS The forks may well be to blame as the gauage 1-2-3 just spins around and does not seem to do anything also feels very bumpy when riding

    Any advice happily received

The knob on the forks is for anti dive control, it controls the rate of oil flow during hard braking/decelleration 1 being least resistance( the bike will toss you over the bars under agressive braking:crutch: , 3(on your model anyway,my 86 goes to 4) being the firmest will provide a stiffer feel w/ less dive under braking( there is no drastic change that you will notice ). as far a overall performance it is a 20+ year old bike but there are things you can do; install progressive fork springs &/or just draining & adding a heavier weight fork oil will help. Check w/ your local dealer on availability of fork springs, some one else may also know where to find some online. I'm generally happy w/ mine for now so I have not messed with it.

    Hi Craig.

Welcome to the group. Hope you are enjoying your ride, despite your troubles. You could try sopme bar risers, like Gen-mars or Helibars which is actually a replacement bar with a higher rise than the stock ones.

As for your front suspension, yeha, its 20 years old, might need to change the fork oil at the very least. I am feeling I need ot dothis onmy 93 as, like yours, the forks seem to dive a bit much. You couls, as suggested above, go to a more progressive spring, use a different weight of oil adn even experiment with the oil height inside the fork. There may also be aftermarket options in the form of kits, like from racetech, to complete forks.

Again, Welcome to the collective. We are glad to have you hear.
