I just finished installing my CBR front end. Does it ever feel better! I have everything ready for the rear. Just waiting for my shock to arrive from JamieD to complete the conversion.

I bought a complete but rough '92 CBR600F2 to use for the parts. Turns out the forks, fender, triples and rear wheel were from an F3. They kept the F2 front wheel and brakes though...they work, but not all of the brake pads are touching the rotors. I'll sort that out later.

Thanks. Yep, I did it all. I have a second VFR that I mocked it up on. I'll be doing it all over again on that one for the track.

Hey artee, I got an email that you posted something, but nothing showed up here.... Tell me more about the Brembos will ya? Part numbers or make/model? Wheel and rotors for the F3? Part number/where to buy those caliper brackets? Master cylinder for this setup? I think that combo would work great for the race bike. Thanks a bunch.

    Hi
    Sorry.
I deleted the post cos it sounded bollocks when I read it back.
Anyway we all no the vfr750/700 has crap brakes, so I decided to do something about it.
I have some facebook friends in Japan and asked what they had done to their bikes. One of them told me about his brembo conversion.
So here we go... I have cbr600 f2 94 forks fitted with f3 lowers, this is important as the brake hangers only fit the f3 forks. Theyre fitted into 1988/89 vfr750 triples. These are a direct swap, 41mm, no stem pressings or machining.
You will need 296mm discs or rotors as you call them. These can be found on 88-94 vfr750s. Of course if you use the f3 front wheel you will need the rotors that fit that, but you lose the speedo drive.
    Here are the brake hangers.

I am led to believe there is a 65mm version.
The brakes I use are from a Ducati Monster from around 1995. I cant remember the exact model.
I am currently using a 1994 cbr600 master cylinder but its a little too soft on the lever for my liking. It has a 5/8 inch piston but I have aquired a vfr800 version with a 1/2 inch piston to try.

There is no specific vfr700 rc26 section, but the rc24 86/87 is virtually identical.

Thanks Roger. Excellent info. I'll look into the hangers and calipers. Just to be clear, you are using the CBR F2 front wheel, right?

    Thanks again,

If the stock brakes are well-maintained and fitted with steel-braided lines, artee, i don't agree that they're crap.

    Ok
They're not crap, but lets say they could be better.
The brembos are head and shoulders better than stock, either the vfr or cbr f2 I had fitted.
