    Hey all,
Just picked up a 2002 VFR with 7000 miles. The bike is basically stock with the exception of polished wheels. I ride the bike every day to/from work, weekend rides, etc. I put 22,000 miles on my last car in 11 months... we'll see just how many I can rack up on the VFR. I'm using it as my primary transportation as I've picked up a '71 Blazer as my backup. The Blazer runs/drives pretty nice... but definitely needs some tinkering. The VFR and I are understanding each other quite well at this point.

I went the direction of the VFR because I'm 6'3" and make frequent road trips. I wanted a bike that would accommodate all of my needs. So far, I haven't been disappointed. In the near future I'll be picking up some Heli Bars, bubble wind screen, hard luggage, throttle lock, etc.

Thanks to everybody for all the good info on the board.

Yes, I've noticed that it requires a bit more up front planning. I can't buy the Costco bottle of laundry detergent on a whim... rather tough to carry home. But other than lack of a trunk it's been a real pleasure to run errands and commute. The riding position is quite comfortable and I really enjoy the torque as compared to the FZ6 I was riding previously. I've never liked revving the snot out of a motor to get results.

    Welcome Bensign.

Do you have to have it to live there?

Ah yes... the infamous first post of pictures to a new forum. Let's see if this all works out...

I really like the polished wheels. I was initially looking for an asphalt black VFR... I generally lean toward the flat black/subdued sort of style. But this flashy red with polished has grown on me pretty quickly. I'm a huge fan of the visual on this bike.

Nice bike! The rims with that red looks great. Who owns the 5th gen in the 2nd pic?

    Talent, OR detergent

sorry... I guess some of my posts take an aquired task, or just too obtose. Not trying to be rude. Nice picks

The rims look purdy on your bike. I'm too lazy to desire the snazzy wheels, the black hides the lube. :)

The bike is sharp! I really like the rims. I wonder how much that would cost to have that done???

I can't believe I didn't pick up on the Talent thing... I use that joke all the time when telling people where I live.

The 5th Gen is my buddy's bike. He bought it on a Saturday and I picked mine up that Monday. The 5th gen is a nice bike, it has Heli's, Givi Screen, Sergant seat, soft bags, high mount two-brothers, etc. It sounds beastley.

I don't know how much it costs to get them polished. I may be finding out soon enough though... might be easier to pay somebody to polish the wheels rather than do it myself. I can barely find time for washing.
