My bike is getting delivered this weekend and was considering having the dealer add on some frame sliders. What are everyone's thoughts on sliders and/or and other simple modifications that you would recommend (ie. elimator kit, light kit)?

did you get full riding gear yet? If not, I'd get boots, pants, gloves, and a good jacket before protecting the bike... (oh and a decent brain bucket of course)

    frame sliders

Hey, I got an '04 VFR and want the frame sliders too. The only place that I see that has the complete kit is the rg-racing.com in the UK somewhere. And they want plenty of Euros for the kit too! The V-tech VFR has the water bottles for the radiator in the way of the bolt location for the sliders. The rg racing kit is the only kit I can find that has the modified bottles included in the kit. Otherwise you have to move the bottles with a bracket (which I can't see how to move them with no room in the area.) or to drill a hole through them and plug the hole some how. One guy said the plugged the hole with some pvc pipe and used caulk to seal it. But with the pressures involved with radiators, I wouldn't trust that. If you find anything else, please let me know.

I just got a pair of the RG racing sliders put on my bike, an '06 vfr. Not only are there the sliders that stick out of the side and the special coolant bottle, but they come with a bar that goes all the way through the bike for extra strength. They look good on my bike. I don't have pictures yet, and it just snowed last night, so I won't be able to get them today. If you get them from EMA they are cheaper than from R&Gs site.

I have the R&G sliders on my 03. The bar just replaces a single long engine hanger bolt to allow the nylon sliders and aluminium spacers to be attached. There wouldn't be any other way to attach them. I hope I never find out how well they work! (frantically looking for wood to knock on!!).

Enjoy the 06, they are great bikes.
