for a while my bars are slightly tilted to the right - after a tip-over. I had the front end completely rebuilt and still have the problem. The bike tracks straight as an arrow - there is no pulling when i release the bars at speed and the handling is as good as ever. However - i also noticed that on the left side the swingarm is slightly hitting the footpeg bracket. Could the swingarm be slightly bent? is there an attachment for the swingarm that could be bent, or could the frame be bent? any thoughts would be welcome . . . .thanks! alex

You didn't say, but did you have a wreck while riding or did the bike just fall over on the left side?

    If a fall over:
Slightly bend the footpeg bracket back away from the swingarm. The correct method would be to remove it from the bike and mount it in a vise, then apply a little heat before making the bend. Or you can possibly use some washers to shim the foot bracket away from the swingarm, depending upon the amount a rubbing.

The handlebars are likely bent toward the right from a left hand fall also. Repair or replace or accept as is...

    If a wreck while moving:
Yes the swingarm could be bent, although if it is riding straight with no-hands, it doesn't seem to be the case...?

Probably the subframe, not the swingarm bent.

    Drink beer

Support the bike on center stand and under the engine.

    Drink beer

Loosen the upper and lower triple clamp bolts.

    Drink beer

Tweak the bars a little left and right then see where it naturally wants to sit.

    Drink beer

Re torque clamp bolts. Use care not to move bars and clamp bars into a different position.

    Drink beer.

    See if problem is resolved.

the infamous subframe, footpeg mount bracket, triple tree bending...whaa, tip over?

If you really need to know for sure that everything is straight, you have to use a GMD Computrack or Race Tech type frame measuring service.

Or you could try a string alignment check. Welcome back, NCB !
