About to rebuild the front shocks on my '04, and the Honda recomended fork seal driver is part 07947-KA40200. Now from when I had my '98, I have part 07947-KF00100 fork seal driver. Wondering if I can use it. Know this is probly an extremely rare situation, but figured I would ask. Just in case anyone has tried it.

What I am guessing, and it is certainly a guess, is that the only difference ist that the 5th gen had 41mm forks and the 6th I beleive has 43mm forks. I don't beleive there is any other difference. 2 mm is a pretty small difference, so I am thinking I will be fine, but don't want to ruin $20 in fork seals to save buying a $25 tool.

I use a hunk of PVC pipe. If it pushes on the metal outter ring and not the rubber seal, it will be fine.

This is why I don't like forums

All I wanted to do was click the "Thank you" button. Then it opened a dialogue box. Then typed, "thankyou" and then it said, "you need 10 characters" and then I was tired of trying to thank someone and typed whatever to keep the forum gods happy. Then it opened a "quick response" box and I just logged off.

Liked the tip about the diameter of the tube and liked the tip about using the old material. Small details that make a difference to a first attempt.

Yes I find various pieces of pvc fittings useful in doing seals on cages as well. For a few dollars at Home Despot you can pick up all the common sizes, probably one of the cheapest specialty tool kits that can be put together hehe.
