Is there an interval for when the fork oil needs to be replaced? I have an '02 and was just wondering if I should consider doing this while I'm getting the bike ready for the summer.

Ya know, I now guys that have never and some that do it every new season. Me I re did my whole fork set up 2 years back and thought every two years would be fine since I only went 9k last year the year before was just over 12k, I believe there's is a piece on this in the owners manual stating whats what.

My fluid looked like trash after 2 years. Could be in part to some slightly bent for tube though. I would recommend every 2 years on changing the fluid to help keep debris out of the seals and system.

    Fork oil change interval

Good morning, in my opinion 2 years are the correct period, but you have to consider the use of the bike, more ore less every 30000 Km it's correct too

Excuse me for my poore english but I' would like to use this forum also to improove it

I change a lot of fork seals and would say most people only change the oil when seals fail. You should pick out an interval you can stick to like every other front tire, every other engine oil change or every season or two, tops. It is unreal how filthy fork oil can get in a short period of time:eek: and the benefits are go much further than peace of mind.

Sure would be nice if you could just pull a plug at the bottom of each leg, drain it, and pour the juice back in the top. I'd do it every month if that was the case.

Wait, we have drain plugs? where?

yea if it wasn't for the fact one needs to pull em out and upside down I'd do it every year, if not more.
