So I have had my 07' vfr800 abs for about a month now, and just turned 600 miles today. We were out on a 120 mile long ride today checking out the fall colors with the local Audi gang when we made an ice cream stop. When I went back to get on the bike I noticed the bolts were missing from the brackets that hold the front pegs (and it appears rear master cyl, on the right side) and they were all misaligned and very loose. Only the lower bolt on each side loosly holding it on (that would explain why it felt like i had to reach for the gear lever)

No one had a metric allen wrench, and It was just not safe in my mind to drive all the way home with a passenger with the bike like that. Ended up taking the roof latch bolts off of my buddies miata (phillips head screwdriver we did have) and used them to hold on the mounts for the pegs.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is this a common problem? I am pretty bummed that the dealer didn't properly torque these bolts during assembly. I will be calling them tomorrow  There are getting loctite this time!

I would be making honda replace the missing bolts and do a complete service and check all bolts as its a safety issue.. make them do it for free..

Go back to your dealer that you bought it from and raise hell! The mechanic that did the prep really screwed up!
