Hi all , I have a 1987 VFR700F2 . The front fork fluid has not been changed in years . So , my ? is ? What is the best product to flush out the fork tubes after I have removed them . Springs out . I have been told Kerosene , sea foam . My local Honda shop told me to just use some cheap ATF a few times . Then use the proper Wgt . Honda fork fluid .
Any & all suggestion welcomed !
    THANK YOU !

When I did mine, I flushed them with some ATF then sprayed all parts with some carb cleaner. But I was also painting them as well.

Cheap ATF. It's essentially what came in the forks from the factory. (7.5w)

i used gasoline for its solvent properties to flush out the last of the shiny metallic-looking micro flakes. best to remove forks from bike and drain upside down.

    How many miles on bike?

You're bushings are very likely toast. Even cleaned out and new fluid, you're fork action is probably going to be poor.

And flushing forks and adding new oil historically is followed by previously dry oil seals starting to leak as a thank you for your hard work. Seen that MANY times.
