So I know whether the flapper mod actually makes a difference is controversial. I did it anyway on my old 919, and found that it made the intake howl more noticeable ( I liked it). Nothing noticeable as far as HP.

On the VFR it made the intake howl AWESOME, I removed the snorkel last night too so that might have helped as well, but man does it sound good.

As far as power I can't say, it was pulling pretty hard this morning but it was also unseasonably cool, like 53 degrees. So she had that nice dense cool air to breathe.

So far I'm glad I did it, have you guys found any issues with removing that snorkel thing?

i just did mine a couple weeks ago. on the flapper i just cut the hose and put a plug in it and reconnected the hose to the plug so the hose doesnt hang and it looks stock. basicaly just plugged the hose up. dont know if this is correct or not. i removed the snorkel too. i like the new sound but didnt notice any change in the way the bike runs, good or bad

Yeah I plugged the line with a golf tee, then zip tied it tight. Put some electrical tape on the connector for the flapper so it didn't get crap in it.
