    Happy New Year All!!!

So again i turn to the plethora of knowledge that is the VFR Forum for advice.

After being hit by a BMW (no injuries luckily!) my top fairing, windscreen and left side panel are cracked beyond repair.

I've already got a new windscreen, fairing and side panel. The only thing is that the original screen fitted prior to the crash was a VFR 800 windscreen cut down to fit. (So much for second hand!) This means that the attachment plates and adjuster mech to lower and raise the windscreen and actually attach it to the top fairing is missing.

My cry for help is this. Could anyone let me know where to get the inner and outer 'u' channel plates that hold the windscreen to the top fairing and can some of you who have a FJ/FK model post some pics of the mech itself. Ideally pics taken of inside the windscreen looking through it to see the attachment point.

I've already tried david silver, he can get me the bolts but not the 'u' channels, i've tried honda, but they don't make those pieces anymore and the microfiche is too blurry to see what it looks like. Tried ebay but no luck.

    Any help appreciated.

    Phil.

    Ouch!!

    Hey Phil

Sorry to hear about your BMW shenanegins. Doesn't sound too clever. Let me guess - "Sorry mate, didn't see you there . . ."

I'm in the process of painting my FH right now and when it's done I'm sticking one of the adjustable FJ screens onto it that I picked up from fleabay a couple of months back. It's sat on the side upstairs and I can try to upload a couple of pictures of it for you, but I'm confused about the U-shaped channel pieces you're referring to.

The screen I've got has three main pieces to it - the screen, the black plastic trim at the bottom that joins to the fairing and the metal support piece that limits the angles of adjustment. I think the bits you are talking about are the catches that form part of the black trim, but I've got a nasty feeling that the photo's won't help you much - as I said, the mounting points form part of the trim. If they're not attached, you'll probably need to buy a replacement screen.

    HTH

    Further...

    Hey Neil.

The pieces i have are the fairing, the outer plastic channel that bolts to the fairing (this has two holes for the windscreen support assembly) and the windscreen itself.

the pieces i need are the bits that bolt to the windscreen so i can bolt it all the the fairing and the metal adjuster mech.

i work in a structures bay so building replacements wont be a problem, i just need to know what they look like.

    Many thanks,

    Phil.

    Dude!!!!

    That everything i need!!!

One more question, the lever that raises the windscreen, do you pull it towards you or up and down?

    Many, many thanks.

    Phil.

    Excellent!

The thumb levers are spring loaded and when you pull them towards you
the windscreen pops up. To put the windscreen down you pull the levers
back again and push the windscreen down then release the levers, which
will spring back into place and hold the screen down again. Something like
    that.
Ill check the post every now and again so just let me know if you need
    anything

    David.
