my 1987 white VF700f2 had very badly cracked and yellowed mirror stems..simply remove any material that is flexed up file or sand it flush with the mating parts ..dremel out the cracks a bit..got to auto parts store and get some permatex- 2 part bondo rubber bumper epoxy..work fast sets up quick,,u will have to layer the crack several times to fill it ,,get as much deep in as u can and then do it again untill the crack is over filled .this stuff is flexible and it sands easily and u can shave off any excess with a exacto knife..sand smooth ..180 -220 -400 and maybe some 1200 wet sand..tape off mirror, and stem , with blue painters tape.,its black so use some white primer then shoot it with several coats of krylon fusion white.havent tried any clear to make it shine better..looks like new can be used on black mirrors easier since the epoxy is black ..so far the cracks have not came back been a month..since new morrors are unobtainium this is the easy inexpensive fix to make that bike look good again..did mine in about 2 hrs..happy riding..gregg in ohio

    Nice work, Greg.

I'm too turned on by riding my VFR to care about the stem cracks or scratches anywhere.
