Hey Guys: Anyone have any ideas for the best way to clean the "haze" off a headlight lens on a 98 that seems to be from a "clear-kote"? I'm not sure if all bikes are like this, but mine seems to have some kind of clear sprayed on coating that has become hazy. In the small spots where its peeled away naturally the lens underneath is clear, but the coated areas are hazy. I've taken my fingernail to it, but most of it is still very firmly attached. Any ideas?
Thanks Big3, I'll give that a try. I have some Novus scratch remover that I tried. I used the #3 (heavy scratch remover) then went over it with the #2 (light scratch remover) with some success. It didn't remove the coating, but it did "buff" it so it was somewhat clearer. Probably just a matter of time before it gets bad again, so if I can get it all of that would be best. Just a FYI- the bottles say not to use it on things like lenses.
A friend of mine got some kind of kit from the autoparts store for his cr that had plastic lenses it was probably the 1500,2000 grit as it had 2 sets of sandpaper products followed by 2 polishes the polishes had a pretty decent solvent smell to them.
