Just bought a 2000 VFR800 last weekend, not even registered yet. I'm seeing some threads about overheating, and wondering if anyone knows an easy way to put a fan switch on the bike?
I did with my 85 Ninja 900, and anytime it was hot and I got stuck in traffic, I flipped the switch on to keep the bike from heating up. Worked great.

Also, I haven't seen anything yet on suspension setup suggestions.

Unless you're overheating I wouldn't fix what ain't broken. See how it goes, the VFR can run hot but it's made that way. It will go to 220+ then the fans will kick in and cool it down. I haven't modified my '99 and it handles the 100+ CA central valley summers fine.

Are you looking for OEM suspension setup or upgrade advice?

OK, I'll roll with the temp stuff like it is... I just noticed that there were watermarks on the exhaust pipe from a previous overheating episode, and smelled antifreeze while at a stoplight. Maybe it wasn't me tho.

The bike has stock suspension, and I don't have any idea of how it is currently set. Usually people with similar bikes will get a good starting point for the stock suspension, and that's kind of what I was hoping for.

    Thanks!
