    Greetings,

I have been a member here for a while, first joining after buying a 2002 VFR800 new in 02'. I ended up taking that bike cross country in 2015 but have since traded it in... My first V4 was a 1983 VF750F that I unfortunately sold in 2000...

Always a Honda guy I just picked up my third V4... a 1986 VF500F with 14k miles... all together and original... The bike fires right up, runs and rides great... I plan to change out the fluids, check the brakes etc and just ride it for the rest of the season... I'm sure I'll dig into a little more over the winter...

Looks good with my 1989 Hawk!!! Like many 40 somethings I seem to be starting to collect the motorcycles I always wanted as a kid... :)

Thanks for looking... see you in the forums!

    Mike

    That's fucking nice. Great score.

I finally added a Hawk to the fleet. Something I always wanted but just didn't happen until the right one came along... a project bike with good bones to MOD.

Wow, that looks pristine. Just look how good the black paint on the headers looks!

Also, it's starting to seem like owning a Hawk is a common side effect of owning an Interceptor. Strange phenomenon.

Nice looking Bikes, both of them.

Congrats on finding a nice '86

Matt, it seems to me that once you have 3 bikes your not far from a quick fall into a 4th. Once the 4th one arrives, your totally F'd and you end up with 15-20 bikes. Slippery slope.

Hey everyone thank you for the replies! I'm stoked to have found the bike... it is very nice... not perfect at all... but very nice!!! I'm located in Massachusetts... grabbed the 86' in New Hampshire not too far away...

As for the Hawk... that was always a bike I drooled over... I bought that last year in New Jersey... 12k on that... all stock and together.... runs like a top... I did maintenance on it and a little cleaning and that was it... I'm not sure which one fuels the other lol... All I know is I love Honda's and I need a bigger garage lol

Wait til you get to the point where you're buying (and building) multiple examples of the same year and model. I have reached a new level of stupidity.

Capt, give yourself some credit, how about new level of "self discovery"....

mv577- Sweet ride indeed. Hard to believe they keep popping up in that condition. Hawks were always a sweet little Honda surprise too, hella fun around town, wheelie for days effortlessly, but by the late '80s I'd already been bitten hard by the HP bug and was kinda disappointed by the time I knew people with them and rode them in the early '90s. Cool ride none the less!

Put my first miles on the bike today, 120 in total... She ran smooth, cooling system seemed to work when stuck in traffic.... Starter isn't sounding great, needs front brake pads... Shifts through all the gears great... Pulled hard (no redlines I promise)... Handled great!!!

One thing I'm trying to pretend didn't happen was after running it for a bit it smoked a little at startup after sitting... Only did it once... Bike had been sitting for a couple of years... I have Berryman's in the tank... I'm hoping she came around since it hasn't happened since... But we'll see!!!

Bike was a big hit at the ride though... Even the Harley guys stopped to ask me about it!! Best though was the young kids who voted it the best bike at the ride... Told me I needed a Capt. America shield on it lol..

I did get a new helmet to go with the bike :)

Overall the day went well... Love the bike!!
