Test rode an '05 today at the dealer. The bike fit very well and overall a very fun ride. I found that the VTEC didn't unsettle the bike when using a smooth throttle. Full open on a straight and the VTEC would cause a slight surge, kind of a rush. I like the linked brake as I don't use the rear brake and the linked rear would help settle the bike better than just full front braking.

I've used an FZ1 primarily as a commuter the past 3 years and was looking for something with a little more protection from the elements and ABS. The VFR fits the bill really well. The only thing I missed on the test ride was the big low end torque of the liter engine. I'll just have to shift a little more often through the twisties.

I appreciate the forum as I've learned a lot about the bike. Thanks to all of you for your postings and to the forum for giving everyone a place to share.

The dealer is working up a price for me and if it's reasonable I hope to become and owner.

use the classifieds on the site and a historical look at e-bay prices to de-BS your dealer's "workup" Good luck!
