Did 150 mile lunch ride with some friends.. ODO was at 1 when I picked the bike up yesterday at dealer... put a set of the motopumps .6" risers on last night, lowered the back of the seat (left front risers in) - (I'm 5'6", 30" inseam 160 lbs) and the seating position feels great. Some observations: We took mostly back roads, so plenty of opportunity to vary engine RPM's, speed and wear in new tires.. Now, going over bumps and uneven roads reminds me of my 1996 Ducati 900 SS, not exactly BMW RT like.... ride feels a bit stiff, but imagine will loosen up some, throttle is touchy in the near off position, esp in 1st as you'd imagine.. coolant temps got as high as 209° F in stopped traffic, would go back down immediately at speed. bike handles well, brakes are OK, didn't seem to grab, nor did the ABS come on....bike is heavy ( like my '99 RT was) when I forgot and parked facing down a sloped spot and had to walk bike out of space.... All in all, a good ride with friends, and isn't that what it's all about?

Don't worry about the temp. the bike runs hot. Mine stays between 189-220 mostly around your posted temp.

Runs hot in traffic, but never a problem. On the other end, it needs to warm up a while before starting out. VTEC won’t kick in till about 147 degrees. You can start sooner, but won’t run smoothly till it’s warm. Guess it’s the fine tuning!

Check the preload to loosen the suspension. You're about my weight and I found that 4 bars showing on the rear preload is what works best when I ride without bags. I forget about what I have on front, but I think it's bearly half or only one turn from all the way soft.

You guys or gals with the deluxe always talking about adjustment! I personally like the bobble head effect of the F. ;-) I bobble here and there and get a massage every here and there! ;-)
