Finally. Winter let go of it's death grip on Vermont. Did a quick shakedown run of 10 miles yesterday to make sure everything was 100%. The VFR passed the test without a hiccup. Bit the bullet this morning and mounted my steed despite the 28 degree temperature. I had bundled up (forgot the neck warmer, though) and pushed on into the brilliant cold morning. Gave myself 45 minutes to get to work, about 15 more than I needed normally. DAMN! It was cold!!! I actually was grateful for traffic stops! First time that's ever happened! Anyways, I avoided the highway (but managed to hit 115 on a back road  ). It had me thinking... ...How do I manage to survive the winter without a motorcycle ride???
Neck Warmer.... A must for us Northeast riders NH/VT/ME and Upstate NY... 3 years ago my wife dragged me kicking and screaming to a craft fair... Suddenly there was this cute as a button little old lady who was making kneck warmers for motorcyclists.... 5 bucks each... I bought a dark green one, navy blue, and Red... Sadly, I found out the following year when I went to buy a bunch for my motorcycle friends as X-mas Gifts she passed away and the woman who makes them now does not make them as strechy and they are too tight... I'm thinking about taking up sewing...
there's nothing like the excitement of the first ride of the season. i was lucky enogh winter broke here a couple weeks ago so i've been out a couple times, i agree with the winter comment, i dreaded the day i had to put away for winter last year. i rode ti until the snow came, so i know how u felt in the cold.
Nothing like the first good ride of the season to get the Cob webs off thy back, Mine was a few weeks ago, but this last Saturday was a real kick in the butt, saw 78 degrees 200 miles + day Woo Hoo I wore to many cloths, Now only to have snow in the forecast this week, Sheesh.
