Hi, just to introduce myself, I'm new to biking (and not that young anymore, but wanted to try something new). Got my full licence last year and tried a few bikes, but none hit the spot. Then, just by chance (I actually went to look at a CBR600F at a dealers) I got on a Gen 5 VFR and it made me smile from ear to ear! Afrer a while searching, I'm now the owner of a 1999 VFR800 Fi-X in red (I've heard it might not be the fastest colour though! :numbness:), It's done 13k miles and has 2 POs. It's a bigger and more powerful bike than I've ridden before, so taking it really easy to start with. And a big thank you to everyone who has helped with my (newbie) questions on other parts of the forum.

Welcome. Count yourself lucky. Most of us have found the perfection of the VFR only through a torturous path of multiple bike ownership. I guess I am kind of prejudice thinking the 5th Gen is the best and of course yellow is the fastest color but red will do.

    :welcome:

The bike will seem smaller and smaller every few hundred miles you ride until you can't believe how big it felt at first !
