So I opened the days newspaper (Sydney paper) and there it is: 'Proposal to make Sydney the Rome of the Pacific with cheap and easy parking for motorbike riders'.
Well, well - someones finally twigged to the fact riders can help ease traffic congestion and reduce pollution compared to cagers. I hope its an idea that gains momentum across our other capital cities that suffer with choked roads etc.

Many years ago in Canberra some pleb complained that bikes were getting it easy - being able to park in designated places at no cost. Of course, one of the brain dead politicians of the time seized on the idea and made all sorts of noises...until very early one Saturday morning a well organised convergance of bikes into the city took place. No one parked where the bikes would normally park - oh no - each car parking space was taken up by a single bike. The message got through and the 'issue' quickly got taken off the political agenda.

So whats the story with your state/county - pro bike for commuting or not?

    Cheers,

I figured I would dredge this thing up and give skid at least one answer....

Here in Santa Barbara motorcycles get to park for free in payed lots most of the ticket giving devices for the garges area utomated bikes don't weigh enough to trip them. (at least thats what I have been told) even on th peir where all the tourists go its free for motorcycles. So I guess we get a break...
