I'd been thinking about buying a sports tourer (FJR) for about four years and had no idea there was such a thing as a VFR until I saw a black 06 in a showroom in Richmond BC this past summer. At that moment, the heavens opened, a beam of sunlight broke through, and angels began to sing

Months later (last Friday), I drove 7 hours from Deep River to Kingston/Waterloo and brought my new black 06 ABS back home through light flurries on a trailer. Since some roads had been salted during a snow squall the day before, I washed the bike tonight after work in the dark at an ambient temperature of 1 deg C. It doesn't taste like salt any more, but passers by must think I'm nuts :suspicious:

I might get a ride in here before the snow flies as there isn't any salt on the roads here yet. Then I'll have to decide on whether to leave it in the garage, where it might get to minus 30 deg C, or bring it into the house. Decisions, decisions...
