I've been wanting a 6th gen since they first came out! Ive "suffered" through several other bikes including a NICE NT650, and for the last 18 months have been bike-less! I just picked up a NEW 07 RWB, and couldn't be happier!!! It's only got 137 miles on it just yet (still need to get it the rest of the way home) but I can't wait to finish breaking it in and have some fun! I've been lurking for a while, and I'm still debating the relative merits of the mods I've been reading about. The only things planned at first are a Stebel Magnum horn and a brakelight modulator. Wow, I sure am getting responsible in my old age (25) haha...

Now, if only I knew how to weld, I could unleash that sweet V4 sound with some gutting...

It sounds like you've accomplished a life long goal. Congratulations. You will love your bike. The first thing I'd do is lower the gearing.

Congrats on the choice and picking the best and fastest color! RWB - it has become a trend! Enjoy and I agree, ride it and then decide what mods you may want. Oh yeah, and post up a picture real soon.

No way, drop a tooth on that sucker. "It's really the only sensible thing to do, if it's done safely. Therapeutically there is no danger involved..."

Do your research on the exhaust gutting thing. It's an argument I try not to get involved in around here as there are many whom have done it. There are very good reasons for not doing that thing. It just depends on whether or not they matter to you.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys! I haven't been able to ride it since the first night, because I bought it out of town had to get my car back home for work! It's still sitting at the girlfriends, it's killing me! I'm going down there today, hopefully I can twist her arm into following me back home and letting me take her back to her place on the bike!

As for the break-in, I think I'm going to get the bike up to temp tomorrow and then change the oil (150ish miles)...I know it's not needed, but it keeps me sane...

As for mods, I've already started! Bought a fender eliminator and some Heli bars...I really want the Sargent seat as well, but I'm going to put some miles on the stocker and see if I warm up to it. That goes for all of the engine mods too...I need to put a couple thousand on the bike and see how it a actually runs before I start trying to FIX things...so far, it's STILL smoother than anything else I've had my only other 4-banger was a 1981 GS550, and I'm coming off of a 1980 TS250 right now, haha, other than that it's been singles and twins.

Wish me luck guys! It's gonna take some serious restraint to not pop for some Staintunes or at least some decent slipons right away! Let me know if anyone's in the Tucson area!

I agree. Oil is cheap. I changed mine at 300, then again at 600 miles.

and if there is any loose bits floating around.... I put a magnet on the oil filter so that way if there are bits, it holds them in the filter and away they go with the old filter.
