I have been looking for a VFR for a little while as of late. Tried a few early 90's models but nothing that caught my eye. Either high miles or busted up plastics with an unknown history trying to be sold by a flipper.

Fast forward to today. I picked up this 1999 VFR with 24966 miles when I picked it up today. It already has the upgraded R/R with a cooling fan for the R/R. Givi luggage set with LED's in the box, a micron exhaust in the box, a new Sargent Seat in the box, a power commander, an extra long Givi windshield. I am sure I am missing something but I will post a video once it is downloading. Anyways the site has been great for insight and the members have been as well. Once the video is done I will link it here.

Welcome to the WORLD Tews. I'm sure you will grow to love your ne Viffer as much as the rest of us. LOL. Sounds like you got a fair bit of extra goodies in the deal. The Sargent seat is great for those long trips, and once you've heard the bike growl through the Micron exhaust you should most certainly like the bike bike even more when it sounds as good as it looks.

Have fun, ride safe, and keep her shiny side up.

Thanks ZOOM ZOOM. Here is a video of the bike and extra goodies that came with the bike. I forgot to mention the horn is crazy loud! I don't think Honda made theirs to sounds like an air horn but this one will scare the shit out of anyone.

Welcome Tews! Looks like you got a nice deal with all those extras. Your horn is probably a Stebel or similar. I believe these are 139 dB!

That looks like you got a Sweet looking example and a bunch of extras. It's not very often you see a bike with all the stock reflectors still attached. LOL. You'll definitely want to hear what the bike sounds like with the Micron installed. The bag you showed with a bunch of parts in it looks almost as though it contained the airbox snorkel and possibly the vacuum actuator for the flapper valve that is also attached to the air box lid. Perhaps the previous owner completed the snorkel, flapper and pair valve removal. If you use the search function you should be able to find out what the pair valve removal and such involves and what all the parts that are removed look like in order to confirm what's in the bag.

Here is a link for a How-To on the 5th gen pair valve delete and it shows some of the parts removed.

Youre re going to love the bike I'm sure.

If I gun the bike it sounds like my old ricer honda that was supped up. As if it had an AEM cold air intake. I like the bike a lot but the bars kill my wrist. I'm used to my 70's Hondas. I will post a video of the sound of the horn. I will attempt to mount the micron tomorrow.

Zoom Zoom that is what has been removed. I am getting this feeling the PO really took care of this bike and babied it.

Hi Tews. You will love this bike. Check out Helibars and Vibranators. The Helibars move your bars up and back, makes it much more enjoyable. The Vibranators made my installation a breeze. With the Heli's I am on the VFR all the time, and I used to ride the LC more because it didn't hurt. Now I love the VFR much more...

Will do, there is a set of Helibars on eBay used. I was told to look into the black ones are there are 2 different Helibars? Can you confirm this?

You should check Helibars website. I think the black are for 6-Gen Vtec. When I bought for my 5-Gen they were only available in silver... Make sure you get the correct bars.

Did you have to swap out any cables? Or does everything stay the same?

No need to swap anything except the bars. The Helibars use the original cables. I used the OEM grips too, even though I have two other pairs to try. The position of the Helibars is more upright, alot better for me. Good Luck.

Thanks 2wheel. The ride was much easier today with the Sargent seat on. I read a comment stating the Sargent feels like stock but not the one I have.

    Hey Tews

I meant to ask you about the bike bike in the background ahead of your Viffer in the video. Looks like a 76 CB550F that I used to own once upon a time. Looks like a bit of work has been done to it mind you, but a VERY sweet looking bike as well.

Zoom Zoom that is my 550F. I bored the cylinders out to accept 61.5mm pistons. I had the head sent off to MRieck on the SOHC site. He is the racing guru. He gave me stage 2 head work to include bigger valves , port and polish then decked the head and bored the cylinders. The bike runs Dyna S ignition, Dyna Coils. MOtogpwerks 4-1

Sad part is I am not sure what I am going to do with it. The VFR is great.
