Finally, an owner and proud

I just bought myself my first big bike :biggrin: A 50th Anniversary, 5th gen 800.

I bought my 1st bike 2weeks after I past my CBT in 2008. It was a new Honda XL125v8 Varadero and after 5months I past my test. Since then I've been chomping at the bit to get a bigger bike, but was held back by my 25kw restriction. New Years Eve 2010 my restriction was removed :smile:

Sadly my Varadero died just before Christmas with an oil pump failure the completely totalled the engine.

My saving grace though, was that the dealer that I had had my bike recovered to had just bought in my lovely new machine. We did a deal where they would buy my bike off me for the amount the bits that still worked were worth and have that as the deposit with some cash on top to make it mine.

Last wednesday I picked it up... and it is the most amazing thing i have ever ridden (or been pillion on) and it is so easy to ride, even with my lack of "big bike experience".

At last i can keep up with my dad on his 1500 gold wing :biggrin:

If you don't post pictures, we are going to pull the drain plug and your picturesque island paradise there is going to sink into the north Atlantic. Either that or we will tow you to the mainland to the south and make you part of France.
