    Hey all!

I was thinking I wanted to make a change to the sprockets on my 6th gen. I'm looking to give her a little more acceleration. I basically had the following questions:

    1. Which sprockets are the bast to change the one attached to the gearbox or the wheel?

    2. What affect will increasing or decreasing the number of teeth have?

    3. Where can I find good quality aftermarket sprockets?

    4. Will making these changes have any adverse affect on the VTEC system on the bike?

Thanks and I will be very grateful to anyone who can give me a terminology or theory lesson on some of the things I am trying to learn about here.

I did a -1 front for a couple of years and am now on a stock front/+2 rear. If your riding in tight slower corners and need the extra grunt than a -1f is a good way to go. If you're riding is more varied than a +2r is a better choice. After riding this season on a +2r, I won't be going back to a -1. If you're a pure acceleration junkie and top speed isn't a huge concern, than you could do both the front and rear. And no, it won't adversely affect VTEC. Quite the opposite in fact. You'll end up getting through that flat spot quicker and smoother.
