Previous owner trimmed my rear fender down (or, up, I guess I should say) to the bottom edge of the license plate. I know CompWerkes makes a fender eliminator, but they don't have a pic on the site, and haven't gotten back to me with specifics of installation.

Anyone have one of these, or a similar kit on their 3rd Gen? I was about to order one, then took a look under the seat...it seems to me there would be quite a bit of cutting involved.

    Comments? Ideas? Experiences?

When I had my 3rd gen, I ust cut my fender down like you described. It looked a whole lot better than that huge tail that was on it.

    3rd gen fender eliminator

    Made my own.

Cut fender flush with bottom of tail.

Took a piece of SS sheetmetal and bent it at about 45. Attached to bottom of inner fender with bolts. Attached license plate to SS. I also added some LED brake lights, not necessary.

Larry, did you re-attach the plate light?

    Plate Light

Nope, cut a hole under the central lights and glued in some clear so it shines on the plate.

Guess I'll leave mine alone for now, but eventually fab my own & add some LED bolts.

    Thanks for the input!
