The ugliest bike thread led my thinking to what I have liked!

04 VFR 800 Now-- great w/Tunes etc but less than 100 miles no opinion yet.

97' YZF1000R Thunderace-- with risers and corbin it can tour/5 speed rippin
93' CBR 1000F---Piggy but does everything well enough
01' Yamaha FZ1--- Landrocket but needs Race Tech or whatever
86' CB 700SC ---sentimental favorite, 1st & 11K mile trip to Vancouver BC from Richmond VA

72 Kawasaki 750 triple Wheelie King. 2 stroke buz, was a real hoot, would love to have it back
73 Kawasaki 900 Z1 Yosh built, 29 smooth bores, SW shocks, Cal Fab swing arm, duel disc frame gussets with an Original Kerker, with Morris mags, a real beast.
79 CBX nothing sounded like it, cept maybe a Ferarri was fast for her time, but handled like crap. want my Z1 back.
84 VF1000, Now where talking, sounded a little bit weird, but oh how she ran.
    96 VFR 750 perfection
97 VFR 750 double perfection now that I have the mods on her.

    1. VFR 05. My present ride. Simply the best bike I have owned.
    2. Yamaha RD 350 1973. Very fast, handled and braked decently for its day and would spank anything on the road at the time up to about 90mph.
    3. Suzuki GS750 1978. One of the first of the decent handling Japanese bikes, could ride all day in decent comfort.
    4. Suzuki TS400 1973. Not a great bike (the brakes sucked big time) but rode it 12k miles around north america in two months with no problems and had a great time doing it (no bullshit).

    1) 87' Yamaha Venture Royale
    - Sporty enough, comfortable enough, great two up & distance riding
    2) 86' VFR700F
    - Fastest, most forgiving, coolest sounding bike I've owned
    3) 85' Nighthawk S
    - Almost as cool as the VFR, not as fast & didn't sound as nice
    4) 83' Yamaha Maxim
    - First post high school bike, it did what it was designed to do very well
    5) 79' Yamaha IT 250
    - Sentimental reasons & funest off rode bike I've owned

The others just kind of blend together from there.

Well I have to put my VFR at the top, obviously, but my CBR1000 was a kick too. I had a '71 Suzuki TS185 when i was a kid and we beat the crap outta that thing and it just kept running; man, it was a BLAST to ride. It was my first real 'big' bike. I see one on Craigslist once in a while and they still sell for $1000.

For me, I guess my favorite bike is the one I'm presently riding .... which just happens to be an 05 silver metallic vfr (which we all know is the fastest ... I mean ... like a silver streak ... huh)
