I prety much finished ONE of the bikes in my shop this weekend. For the record, it is a 1999 Honda CBR900RR. Nothing really bad on the bike other then some scratches and a dead battery. Clean bike, well taken care of, Micon full system, K&N air cleaner. Mostly stock beyand that.

It's not easy work making stuff fit that's wrong. That's what happined when the Hot Boddies hugger fender was dropped off to me by the bike's owner. It's for a CBR600, not this 900. I had the origion mission of patching up bad paint spots and tripping off the vynals and replacing them with stock looking burgandy ones. This grew into alot more crap.

So the owner got the idea that some guy could paint the yellow part of his bike to look like a "bolwling ball" OK, at this point I figued "screw it, if I don't have to peel stickers and sand and prime the tank go for it".
When it came back it was a Marble effect. Hell, I did that before. Down side was this rocket scientist painted OVER the decals & it was full of dust and runs. More work for me fixing the crap. Lovely.

More parts just show up. Now, normally i order parts ( so I know they fit and who to blaim when the dont). An undetail with intergrated tail turn lighting, flush mount LED front markers & turn signal mirrors. Joy. I live to wire up bikes. Now if I can figure out the 500,000 LED's spider webbed all over this bike and what the hell they do. The owner took the bike in to have the stickers put on and that could have gone better, quite a few bubbles and ripples in the job. Might have something to do with the retard with the "boowling ball" idea not stripping off the old stickers. Anyway, there is a light or two I gotta nail down yet But it fired up, ran well and was lit up like a christmass tree. Oh yeah, FAKE 1000rr custom made tail stickers!!!! Get this thing out of my shop...I need a beer.
    Will post finished pics tomorrow.

I got the pics uploaded so here it is. In all it's fake 1000rr glory with more than 'nuff flashing-strobing-blinking LEDs to cause an epileptic seizure. And YES, a beer or two did help.

The next bike rolling out is a CBR954RR that came in with 1000 stickers.... Gonna be an all black one with reds graphics & NO size markings! I talked the owner into "fire blade" decals on it. Maybe I can redeam myself.

Nice work. I am not in love with some of the color combos that your customers require but I do like your work. Can I ask do you charge a flat rate, or does it vary? Do you consider this a lucrative business, or is it just for fun?

    The 03 954rr

Slower progress on the 954 than I would have liked. I wanted it test rode and out of here today before work. Buffing out black paint is allways fun. Who ever did the wiring for the turn indicatiors on this bike was a moron & I spend more time than I wanted fixing that mess soldering and running the wire for the turn indicator mirrors. Still waiting on the owner to bring me the passenger seat back as well. I will be putting in for a day off for one day this week and hope to get it so it's out by weeks end...

As the 900-wanna-be-thousand gets out of here there was one bit of good news. I was allowed to remove the big ass skull off the wind screen.
