I'm in the process of installing a SpeedoHealer on my '07 VFR and using the calculator that comes with it, I need to enter a value for the Factory Speedometer Error. They default it to 5.5%, but I was wondering if anybody knows the actual value or whether 5.5% is close enough.

OK, how about opinions? Does a 5.5% error sound reasonable for a 6th Gen?

I do not have any definitive evidence but I suspect it is closer to 10% at highway speeds. That is based on those speed radar you sometimes see on the side of the road. Would love to get a GPS and actually test it.

I found a post online where someone checked the speed at 65 mph using GPS and concluded that the Gen 6 has a 7.7% speedometer error. I don't know if it is consistent across all bikes, but it is between the default 5.5% and your 10% suggestion, so I think I will go with it.

It will vary a bit depending on exact tire size, wear and pressure but failing a bike specific test I would say it is probably pretty close.
