I've read a couple places that you can use never-seize to keep the exhaust parts on these old bikes from rusting and sticking together. My question is; can you use any type of non-flamable grease? (ie white lithium) or does it have to be never-seize?

Very newb question but i just spent 3 hours getting my exhaust out in one piece instead of 3 and i'd like to avoid doing that again.

You can use anti-seize on your threaded fittings, but you must ONLY use nickel based anti-sieze. The copper based can take the kind of heat that headers generate and will gall the bolts. Most places don't carry nickel based, but my local O'reilly's was able to order some and I picked up in store.
