I’m in the process of this build but it’s come along way. The bike had some minor crack up and scrapes and scratches.
The Wife’s 92 Gen 3 has been in a state of modification since she got it. We got the bike to replace her 2006 Shadow VLX 600. She had a back surgery and it messed with her leg. The low seat and forward mounted controls did not work for her. That was the 07 season. In the 08 got the Gen 3 it was already repainted in black over its black stock paint. She did not EVER plan to have a passenger again so I chopped a ton of metal out of the subframe and modified it accept a 2000 Yamaha R6 race tail. Anywhere I could save weight I did. (still doing it). Dropped the center stand and shot paint.

In 09 I was at it again. I high mounted the mid pipe, repainted due to some low speed drops in gravel , built frame sliders and went to a CBR929 front wheel and floating brake rotors.

This brings us up to current events. Not quite there, but last few details should be going fast. Hope the mail man likes me the next couple days.
First thing is I got a killer deal on a 2001 Suzuki TL1000R front fork set. Inverted forks, bigger rotors, six piston calipers, with the triple trees for $100. This did not go all that bad. Bottom bearings & race was a perfect fit. Top required some work. I turned down a bottom race for an old Magna & and went to roller bearings. Drilled the top of the tree for a set of risers from an FT500 and built a bar with the same dimensions as the Heli Bars that it had.

That was kind of the idea. Modern but classic on the paint.

One again hope full of the fender showing up with the mail tomorrow.

Now I am questioning if the seat should stay black.... I allways hated colored or white covered seats, But this bike has me thinking.

I dunno. The seat looks so big so when you add color it looks bigger except white. I'm not usually fan of white seat but I had one on my FZR way back in the 90s... it actually had white and yellow which broke it up some, but that wouldn't really fit with your color scheme. How about sargent seat with white trim or something... just kidding... tough call. it looks good with black to me... my wife also likes black better.

just thought of something, too. If you leave the front fender black, it balances the seat...

The "boss" says front fender white. I did find a VERY DARK blue at a fabric store that I'm leaning towords. She is leaning white. Keeping it clean would suck.

I agree with Reg, if the front fender is white and the seat gets redone white it's gonna be too much, allthough those mirrors look awesome in white. If it was possible I'd try to match that light electric blue accent on the body for a seat color, I think two different blues would look funny, just my opinion, it ain't my bike!!

Edit: looking at the bike again I see that there is a darker blue accent directly under the seat, but the lighter blue is above the dark blue on the body. A light blue seat would make it look more "correct" as if the color flowed directly over the seat too and followed onto the tail section.
