It's when you take a spoon and gently push on the padding/foam to take out pinch points in helmets. Would you do it? I only ask because the new Scorpion EXO1000 is a pretty sweet helmet, but it doesn't matter which size I use it has a pressure spot right at my hairline at the top of my fore head. Its thin enough that I think I could get it out using said spoon method. What say you all?

P.S.- I haven't bought one yet, but i would like to.....

Just make sure you use a clean spoon...otherwise, that is just plain unsanitary!

I have. Helmet fit is an art really. Will give you a tip. If you really want to know if a helmet is the right size or not. Remove the cheek pads and evaluate just the hallo fit. In Arais...what I ride...cheek pads come in different sizes. It is common for someone to buy a helmet too big because of how if fits their face. Helmets come in different shapes...Long Oval is what I wear. I don't have a round head...some do. You want to find a helmet that best fits the shape of your head and buy it snug...almost tight. Foam gives over time. A loose full coverage helmet because of its mass and propensity to catch air is a serious PITA. If you have a hot spot or two...spoon it a bit.
Generally if you adhere to your head shape and mfr sizing you will end up in the right helmet. If you find yourself going one size up because it feels comfortable in the store...be careful what you wish for...you likely won't like the helmet in six months.
    Hope that helps,
    George
