Well at the beginning of Feb I started to take the bike apart. I planned on greasing the swing arm pivots and rebuild all the hydraulic systems. Since they are original. One thing lead to another before I got control of myself. But it was to late. It's more than half back together now after painting the frame.

Any body else get in to these type of predicaments?

Oh, yes. It's the "while I'm at it..." syndrome.

Yes getting carried away taking care of a Vffer, it does happen to all of us! But hey it looks really clean nice job! As for me I stopped at just doing body work and fresh paint to all my fairings and F. fender! The seat cowl got painted also it's just not in the picture.

    I feel your pain buddy:

This was from last year. I had to a valve clearance inspection and figured I might as well change the oil, change the brake and clutch fluid, replace brake pads, replace radiator fluid, and change tires...

And this is gonna happen again soon, I gotta do yet another valve clearance inspection in about 2K miles and might as well do a bunch of other stuff.

DAMN it just looks like your having a cigarette and decided to take a picture! As for mine it's in the shop getting new tires and HID lighting installed! Also getting a new chain I would do all this myself but don't have the place to work on it! Besides I got a buddy who's a Honda Tech so he's working on my bike should be done and on the road April 7th!

Yea it's been a while since I really went over the whole bike. Found stuff that really needed to be done. Looked back in my maint log and went WSBM (wholly sh!t bat man) I haven't touched at that in 10+ yrs and such. Rebuilt the carbs, twin clicker, made new SS water hoses, paint this and that and the whole "while I'm at it..." syndrome.

Joey you look like a kid with all his toys out. Hey ShamPow how's the tongue? hehehe

Cdn Nice job on the:banana: Looks good.

Levitation! I use my mystical powers to balance it.

Take a look at the very back of the tail section. See those mc straps. I drilled two holes in the concrete floor, put in two 1/2" anchors/lugs and screwed a wood screw hook thingy in to them to attach the straps to. That way I can raise or lower the front or rear of the bike accordingly. Been doing it that way for years. Makes working on the front end real easy. Plus there is nothing in the way to get to any part of the front of the bike/engine. The bike stays very stable balanced on the center stand. Make sure the straps are on an angle behind the bike so it can't move forward.

Here's a better look at it.

Just buy an old English bike next time, and have the audacity to actually ride it. It will save you the trouble of needing tools for disassembly...

Absolutely. Was trying to fix an old leak on a 1976 CB750F and ended up with a bare frame being sent to the powder-coater. I'll post pics when i get home to show what i ended up doing...

At first I thought you were referring to the reliability of the english bikes but then I started putting two and two together.... riding breaks the bike apart...
