I ride to work 3-4 days a week, 35 miles each way, split between mountain twisties and freeway riding. After that hour-long ride, I'm really feeling it in my legs, seat, and arms.

The route into work is 9 miles of uphill twisties to get to the top of a ridge, and then 7 miles back down it on the other side, the arms take a beating on the downhill stretches (no way I can go fast enough for the wind to catch and hold me like it does on the freeway).

So, I'm thinking that I can do some things to make it a bit comfier, but it seems like most of the std sport-touring type accessories aren't available for this old of a bike (better windscreen, better seat, better placed grips).

I've been thinking I should probably set the bike up for either ST riding, or set it up for Sport riding, and get something else to do the other, but the blend of both is kinda nice (although it's a heavy bike for Sport riding).

I can't find any seat options for this old of a bike, although I'm close enough to Hollister, CA, that I can head over to Corbin in person (with bike or with just the seat).

I can't find anything for aftermarket windscreens to help with the turbulence around my head at highway speeds (not looking for a pocket of still air, just less turbulence, as my head gets pounded around pretty good, especially when it's cold).

All I've been able to find for the bars (which probably give me the most grief ), are the LSL clamp-on adapters to switch over to a standard 22mm bar:

    LSL Superbike Handlebar Kits

They look pretty nice, and I think I have tons of room for a different bar, but the question is what angle bar to get? The convertibars are another option, but I frankly don't care much for the look.

My other thought is to get something else for commuting and longer rides, and make this bike a straight-up sport bike, but I think a more modern bike would make me happier for that (like a Duc 848, when I get around to wanting that kind of hp).

Or... Exercises to strengthen the arms and wrists so they don't bother me so much?

    This may help ...

    Hello:

As to windscreens, this outfit has a +3" and another model, the "G-Force":

    Honda - Gustafsson Plastics

As to the bars, I know Heli-Bars used to make a riser, but I could not find it on their website. I guess the thing to do is "camp-out" on eBay, and see if anything comes up.

As to the seat, if you live near Corbin, just do that. A buddy of mine did that recently - rode down with the bike - and sat in a very comfortable waiting room, while they custom-made a nice comfy seat for him. He remains very pleased with the entire transaction.

For improving comfort, which do people think is going to do more:

    - Corbin seat instead of stock
    - LSL bars (high supersport) instead of the stock clip-ons.

    ??

Both my rump and wrists get sore, and I'm not sure which will do more. A lot of people have mentioned that the Corbin seats lower them in the bike a bit, which means that the angle on the grips will move up.

Today riding into work I determined that my problem with my left wrist is that it tends to "pop" from a straight to a bent position, with the bones in the wrist not at all feeling good from that.

I have the my stock bars raised up to the lock ring on the forks. Its about 1.5" higher and make for a lot more confortable ride. I've read other post about doing this on newer models and seems not to create any problems. Corbin seat is next on my list too.
