    Hi,

Just purchased 02 VFR abs.  After oil change and during the test ride, engine stalled twice after downshifting from 2nd to 1st and turn right at the intersection.  Not all the time but if there's enough jerk when downshifting and turn strongly (meaning abrupt change to high lean angle).  I noticed "engine oil light" brifely blinked.  I didn't try further and came back home.

Is it possible with downshift jerk (2nd to 1st) and high right side lean angle triggers engine stall for vfr?  I checked the oil level and it's at the middle level (engine off and bike on two wheel straight).

Check your idle speed. I had a stalling problem with my 02 when it was brand new. The dealership didn't adjust the idle speed properly. The bike constantly stalled when stopped at traffic lights and downshifting. Once I brought the idle up to where it was supposed to be the problem went away. The oil light coming on is a result of the stalling. If the ignition is on and the engine isn't running the oil light is on.

I took mine to the dealer for not starting on the first try, they replaced the fuel regulator. When I got it back it started doing the same think that was previously discribed, "stalling on down shift, and turing right at intersections." I'm going back to the dealer just to make sure its nothing else. The idel is where it should be around 1200 rpm.

Throwing the bike around, and jerky hard downshifts can cause the battery to move about a bit. I'd start by cleaning and tightening the batt. terminals.

Dealer does not have a clue. They said to turn up the idle to about 1500 max and see if that makes a diffrence. They don't think its a compression issue since it has only 1500 miles on the bike.
