    Hi all,
I’ve just resurrected my trusty VFR from a 6 year layup (had kids) and now I seem to have largely varying engine temps (from about 86-104)
So before I change the thermostat which I understand to be an “interesting “ job, what temps should I be seeing and am I just paranoid

As long as there's numbers are in Celsius, you are describing a perfect working thermostat. Does it take along time to heat up?

No, more concerned about it overheating with a stuck closed or partially closed thermostat so was looking more at what the upper limit I should see temp wise and yes it’s in Celsius

Stuck partly open is not easy to diagnose unless you trash it hard on a warm day.
Fan comes on at 98-102 and shuts at 93-97, thermostat opens at 80-84 and should lift 8mm at 95°.

Many thanks, quick question, at what temp would you hit the kill switch if you’re not moving and the temp is just going skyward
IE if I reach this temp I’ve got a real problem and need to investigate

I've seen 131 on mine in crazy ambient temps and I can tell you I was not comfortable with that! But I had no choice in this situation so I pulled to the side eventually and let her cool down. I would be cautious above 120.
