I'm faily new to V-four bikes, and I just bought an 86 VF500. I just got it up and running after cleaning the carbs, and the engine has a loud knocking noise when the bike is at 2000rpms or less. I thought it might be the valves or an oil change, anyone have any suggestions??
    Thanks

Cam tensioner.. I completely forgot about that.. I'll have to check that out tonight. As this is an older bike, I'd prefer not to put any oil additives in.. not designed for it and makes the clutch do very bad things... Any real suggestions out there??
