Engine coolant temp

    Cruising temps are 175-185F. At stop light temps are low 220'sF.
    '09 with 25kmi. I change the coolant every year. Fan works.
    OEM tstat. Seems like a wide range in temps?

    Perfectly normal - Almost identical temps to my 08.. Try not to stop too often - it gets too hot. lol

    When you are cruising with good airflow, the engine temp is dictated by the opening temp of the thermostat, which is right around 76-78C. When you stop there is no airflow theough the rads so the temp increases to the point where the thermoswitch kick the radiator on, usually right around 100-102C. Temps should then sit around or a little above that point unless it is REALLY hot where you are.

    My fans kick in at 220 and temps drop very quickly. Sounds normal to me.
