    Here's hoping.

Went on a VFRD Nelson ride this past weekend. I was hoping to cross that 200,000 km mark this trip but came up shy. That's another story.

I began to notice that on occasion, when the bike had been ridden so it was well warmed up, that it did not fire up quite like I am used to. Seemed when I engaged the starter motor, there was a very short pause, much like you would expect from a dead battery, then it would fire up, and away I would go. No issues while riding, and this did not happen each time. Never noticed it from a cold start.

Today, I was out and about taking care of several things that had been left unattended while away with the fifth wheel for a month, then this weekend trip. It happened again. Other than this, I did not notice anything. But. My last stop at my favorite deli, and it was dead. It turned over once, maybe twice then dead. There was power as all the instrumentation lights were on but not enough juice to turn it over. I had to push start the thing which to do by myself at my age, is not an easy thing to do. Fortunate for me, the parking lot had a decline of maybe a foot over a length of60 feet, which was just enough for me to get it rolling fast enough to fire it up. Home I went.

Did a cursory check of wiring in and around the battery. All looked fine. So my next step will be to throw the battery charger on it over night soon as I get that back from my neighbour. I am sure hoping it is not another stator. This one was replaced in 2014 when it stopped on me in Regina on my way home from R3. The battery was replaced when the bike's original stator packed it in in Vegas on my way home from R3 in 2012, because I thought it may have been battery problems at that time.

So here's hoping for the best. I don't need the expense of a new stator right now. My RV trip was expensive enough as it was. I would have been better off finding some poor homeless bastard in down town Vancouver, given him 3 thousand bucks and stayed home from that trip. Add to the mechanical issues of that trip, arriving home, the house smelled like an rendering plant. Fridge packed it in likely a couple days after we left. New fridge on order. Then there was the "Welcome to Moose Jaw Saskatchewan" brochure in the mail from the Moose Jaw Police Services enquiring if I enjoyed my visit there. Included was a picture of the back of my RV and an invitation to come back and visit their magistrate or send in a donation of $360.00. Pricks.

BTW. My beer fridge now has food in it until my new fridge gets delivered second week in August. What ever happened to the day when you walked into a store and bought an appliance and they loaded it onto your truck and away you went?

    Holy Shizzz, Randy.

I hope for an easy solution with your moto.

$360.00 donation is a positive way to look at it.

But food in the beer fridge...sacrilege.
