At $400 it might last longer that you think. Sebspeed had one for sale over at VFRD and it was there for a while, it was way cheaper too.

The irony, an 8 spoke being sold by a trusted and respected forum member had a hard time selling one (took several days) for less than $300, yet a higher price one from a stranger on eBay sells right away! LOL The buyer probably thought he got a deal and considering they are made from unobtanium, might be considered so by many.

And so you'd think there would be a cheap supply of 5/6th gen wheels around but doesn't seem to be the case. I wouldn't mind going to a 5.5" wide wheel but I don't need it to be an 8-spoker.

The Ebay dude may be a trusted and respected member too.. The body of the ad is gone. I seem to remember that for the 400 pesos, this included shipping and there were lots of pix that included that there were some nicks in the OEM paint, no drops and no dents.

The irony may lie elsewhere. The target demographic when comparing EBay with this forum is a little hard to rectify. IOW, Ebay gets ya more bang for the peso.

Selling farkles to another "member" is a good thing and surely encouraged. Done it mself..

There may be 1990-73 VFRphiles dismounting tires and wheels off their beloved rides as we speak. I'm keeping mine.

Note that the 5/6 Gen 5 spoke wheel is not a direct swap. Either the wheel or the hub would have to be modified for it to fit properly. The reason is that on the earlier gens, the sprocket bolts protrude on the wheel side of the hub, where as the 5/6 Gen, these bolts sit flush. Option 1, notch out the back of the wheel where these bolts would touch or option 2, replace the sprocket bolts with ones that sit flush. Personally I would go with option 2.

Back side of 5/6 Gen wheel.

Okay, assuming it's in good shape, how about $150 shipped to me in BC, Canada?

I have what you need. A black 6th gen that could use a coat of paint. And I'm in BC too!

Okay, cool! So, how much do you want for it? Let's see how low we can drive this. Yeah, a reverse auction! :)

And weren't you at the Hootenanny too a couple weeks ago? Did we meet?

BTW, I'll be in Vancouver Aug 19-21 so I can pick up.

I was, and I am sure we did.

If you want to pick it up, that'd be great and I will throw in the PR4 that's on it now. Which leaks.

I'll go $149. I like this auction thing.

Great. I'll make arrangements to meet you in Vancouver then. I'll be riding in if the weather's good.

Well I am assuming that's $149 CDN since we're not doing a cross border transaction. But that would be about $115 US.
