As I am restoring my VF500 I turned the frame upside down and there was a leak of accumulated in the frame water. I recall I had seen once a Service Bulletin about drilling a hole but I cannot find it anymore.

There is a list of "Early Honda V4 Bulletins and Notices" (attached images ) copied from the following link:

Early Honda V4 Bulletins and Notices

Are those available? I know there are some of them but currently I am mostly interested about the: "VF500 #3 3-85 84-85 VF500F Frame Drilling"

cool my bike isnt on that list

Could be that there is a statute of limitations so to speak of on the problems... as long as they don't pose a safety risk they may not have to keep it available..your also looking at a bike that is 20+ years old. they don't give a shit anymore...

I'm not sure about the '86 - they may have modified the frame at this point. I'd check to see if there is a drain hole added in the location noted in the bulletin. Please let us know what you find out.

The engine recall was for engines issued very early in the production run - your '86 would not be part of this recall.

I remember that '83 VF750F handle bar recall. I had just gotten home from a ride up the coast of Maine to Bar Harbor on my V45. Lots of twisties. Lots of high speed fun as well. When I got home on Saturday, I took my helmet off, sat down at the table to open some mail, and I read a letter from Mama Honda that says "Do not operate your motorcycle. A problem has been found in the handle bar that could lead to serious injury or death. Wow I thought. Ironically, a minute later my Mom tells me that a very close friend of mime was killed on his motorcycle while I was gone and the wake is in 15 minutes.

I also have the recall paper work for the VF750F water in frame and handle bar problem. Handle bar was 83 only frame was 83 & 84. Dated March 85. Plus tells you to seal frame with two frame end caps and four 8mm bolts in the side of the frame in tail section.

    Frame numbers:
    83......DM000001-DM008420
    84......EM100001-EM100437 California Models
    84......EM100001-EM103370 49 State Models
