Does anyone one own, or has anyone test rode, the DSG version yet. I'd be interetsed in your findings and thoughts please. I'm booked for a test ride on Saturday.

Is that the same as DCT? If so, look at the front page. I rode it and typed up a whole review about it. It's pretty cool.

wow! I didn't realize they were available in the states already. Thanks for your review. I am glad to see some actual mileage figures. I hope the bike does well for Honda. It grows on me more and more. Especially as my 5th gen gets long in the tooth. Let us know what quirks develop as the "new" wears off.

Well, got my DCT tonight at 6pm, by 5 past I had my head around it and its great.

I thought slow speed manoeuvring would be an issue as I thought auto mode would be like a car but it isnt. The bike even feather the clutch for slow speed and takeoff.

First and second gear feels like I have changed them myself but give it some gas and it will go up the box on full throttle with no lag, seemless smooth drive and virtually no loss of revs.

Im running it in at the moment but I went to 8k in 4th in sport mode then clicked the minus button to select third and got a perfect throttle blip and normal engine braking.

It will change up or down faster than I can do manually just click, click click, and down changes however ham fisted will be bet by the perfect rev/throttle position.

This really is nothing like an auto, scooter, its a normal geared bike, just get your head around the fact that you dont have to use a clutch lever or gear change. Its weird but it feel just like a normal VFR with regards to gears clutch feel etc.

As someone has already said, this makes sense of the VFR, for all that said that it needed more electronics, etc. to compete with BMW, well, this just blows em into the weeds - and I have just come off a BM with all the electronics on it - a great bike but this just moves the game a lot further forward. There is evidently a lot of electronics on the bike already, its just that the manual bike doesn't use them fully

One incident summoned it up for me, go down a B road tonight a car came around the corner on my side of the road, - usual reaction, look for the exit point avoid, break steer and dab the box, oh hang on, forget that bit Im already in the right gear, the bike has not pitched moved or changed balance point, - carry out manoeuvre and carry on.

This may not suit everyone but to argue "why do you need it" is just daft, why does the bike have 170bhp - you dont need that either - but, if you have the money then hell why not
