Yeah, literally DROPPED whilst riding slow on gravel.
Stopped, put feet down and right foot slips on loose stones and bike starts to go.
Managed to hold it just above the ground and then it hit the gravel.

I was amazed...the givi E21's held up the bike from the rear, and the R&G bung stopped, I mean STOPPED, all damage to the fairing. Even the right box lost any scraches they had after a wipe and no damage to the exhaust.

Yes it would have been different if I was moving but still say a drilled hole in the fairing for a crash bung is worth everything considering what could have happened.

Not to mention the bitch behind me tooting and telling me to get out her way whilst I was picking the bike up. If it wasn't for the woman near me shouting 'wtf you tooting for, you can see what's happening?' all hell would've broken loose on her car and face after picking said bike off ground.

Just wanted to share and vent.

People have no patience today! Glad you came out unscathed! An ounce of prevention I guess is true.

    Cheers

Absolutely. And thank you! A guy on a ninja just behind me slipped on the same patch of loose gravel, but managed to save it in time. Shorts, t-shirt, no gloves...same as his passenger...brand new bike.
Rather be too hot than lost some of my elbow and knee today.

We call it an "oei-oei-moment". That means (free translation) as much as "auch-auch-moment".

lols would have been taking her keys, throwing them into a nearby drain and watching everyone honk at her for not moving the car out of the way.
Have my bike....HERE! but will take a pic of the damage or lack of rather when she has had a wash

Thanks for the report. I've been debating putting holes in my fairing for sliders, and I'm pretty convinced now.

If it was me that dropped my bike and had some a-hole honking at me I would have..... dropped the back of my pants just enough for her to get an eyefull of booty crack. I would "struggle" to up-right the bike makeing as much effort to show her my ass. I would have put on a good show for her.

haha 1 inch shown to every honk.
Defo agree that a small hole in the fairing is better than a graze or crack. And if they hold the bike up just that little bit...might prevent a snapped lever or bent something else.
