And the funny thing is that I only laughed about it...

Long story: A guy on a CBR came onto the street from his garage and sped away. I saw his hat fly out of his pocket so the idea was to pick it up and catch up to him to give it back. Well, when I stopped and slid down to pick it up, I over corrected the bike to the right and when I stood up I could feel the bike going over. I'm 5' 11" 200 lbs and pretty sturdy but once it got going....

Anyway, luckily I never take my Givi V35's off so they did a fantastic job of stopping the bike from touching the ground. I have a slight little rough spot on the rough plastic on the bottom of the bag, thats it!

Kinda weird, I actually had a smile on my face that I de-virginized myself and the bike. Now it's time to put some miles on the old beat up thing ;-)

I'm pretty surprised how light the bike is, I had no problems at all picking it up.

You didn't mess up that fresh paint you just put on it did you? By the way, you handled better than I ever would. I would have been pissed off at myself.

Luckily the sacrificial lamb (Givi) took 100% of the scratchy scratchy. I guess that's why I wasnt pissed.

I should have added on the last post that I feel for you. I hate dropping bikes! About 3 weeks ago I was lubing the chain on my SV650, using the same semi-Mickey Mouse setup that I have used for 8 years. My "prop piece" slipped off of the swingarm, and I was crouched down with a can of lube. I grabbed the far side of the seat, but only slowed it down. The header on my 1100F slowed it down a bit, too... Anyway, bent brake pedal (now straight), permanent scuff and a small crack on the plastic behind the seat, and two punctures in the passenger grab rail. Not too bad, but I felt like I had somehow betrayed the bike's trust. I should probably go out and knock the VFR over, just to get it over with.
