Drive chain drive plate on 2007. Is the picture correct in the service manual?

The picture in the manual shows bulges at the top and bottom with the plate viewed on edge. Mine has only a slight flare at the top. The bottom is completely flat. I am installing a new chain and front and rear sprockets. The bike has something over 24,500 miles on it.

Before ordering a new plate I want to be sure the design was not changed along the way. The bike is the 2007 ABS.

    Thanks,

    Reg

OEM or QUALITY(expensive) aftermarket chains usually last about 20K miles, so you can use that as a replacement guide.

I'm asking about the guide not the chain. The service manual is implying to replace based on an inspection.

The service department/manager says it looks in good shape. This thread is done.
