Drilling holes in my exhaust

    Hey everyone... I have a quick question. I heard that you can drill holes around the bigger hole in your exhaust to change the sound of it, to make it louder. Does anyone know if this is true or not??? Thanks!

    Worked great on my 84 VFK with stock exhaust. 4, 3/8" holes, each hole 90deg apart increased the sound significantly, not loud but sounds great.

    DON'T DRILL YOUR MUFFLERS. They are hard to find in good shape and you don't want to ruin them. If you want sound search ebay and wait for some cobras or something like that to come up. But don't ruin your hard to find stockies.

    I'd buy some cheap ones on ebay and go to town on those.
    Don't mess up the only ones you have!

    You should get some aftermarket VTR 1000 mufflers and mod those to fit.

    it can be done. It will make it louder too. Here is what I did to the muffler on my R6s. We call it the gatlin gun mod:
