I decided to get the Drift HD camera to record some of my rides. I like how the microphone hooks into the helmet and how quiet the sound is when narrating. I want to make a video like this guy:

Gonna go up tomorrow morning and pick it up here in Vancouver. Much lower price than some motorcycle shops.
    Launch Helmet Cams Vancouver Canada

They have a special on em for 250 + a 32 gig free memory card. Gonna get the extra battery and microphone. May take a bit to figure out how to install the mic into my Shoei.

Nice review. I'll have to investigate this one. I've used the Poloroid HD and the Contour Roam, both nice, if you like wind noise.

Amazing how well it worked - just went out for a 30min and edited it down to 6 min. I thought the sound would have more road noise.

Jim, thanks for the post. I guess that about cinches it. After further research on the Drift, it's basically #2 behind the gopro and for some reason, I'm not a fan of the gopro. Must be the form factor. The polaroid was more of a test to see if I liked them. The contour is really nice, except for wind noise. I like the external mic. I figure I can record some twisties while listening to music at the same time. Time for a Drift.

I just wanted to mention a couple reasons for the Drift HD and not the Drift HD Ghost and also a few general reasons I bought it.
    1. Drift HD 1080p is half the price of the Drift HD Ghost.
    2. LCD Screen on the side - super important vs the GoPro.
    3. Size. Drift is PERFECT for a helmet cam and weighs very little.
    4. LOVE that I can use a microphone inside my helmet and under 60mph records really well. (picture is fine - I just meant wind noise)
    5. Water resistant to a large degree (no dunking) even with the microphone attached.
    6. Makes .mov clips and I brought them into my Final Cut X with no conversion software (goes right in)
    7. Remote does come with Drift HD so I can turn it off and on whenever I want.

I bought the mic (does not come with the Drift HD)
    I bought an extra battery.
I bought them from Launch Helmet Cams - Matt is a really nice guy.

When I saw that first video (up top) I was amazed at how you could travel on a trip - tell a story and show people in a unique way what it is like being on your bike.
The lower video (mine) was set up at 1080p and 30 frames per sec (fyi)
