Don't trust the previous owner

    It's on me for not cleaning/checking the filter last year and trusting the previous owner saying he had just changed the fluids and filters when I went to look at it before buying it.

    But I never expected this when I went to clean it today:

    What can we learn from this? Double check everything yourself.

    WTF? What is that? Looks like popcorn. I'm one of those saps that go to great lengths in pointing out any faults that my bike(s) may have had when I've tried to sell them privately. But you right, its definitely "Caveat emptor" Let the buyer beware.

    The previous owner could have easily been telling you the truth and not known about that. This is not the first instance or picture Ive seen of this. An enterprising rodent can do that much in a day or two.
    More often it is mice nesting in there. But I have seen bigger stashes of acorns than that.

    Clean it out and enjoy the ride.

    Had the same thing happen to a Ford Focus. Air box and entire fresh air intake full of acorns. Mine was packed so tight had to pull everything to clean it out. Thanks Mr. Squirrel.

    There's no accounting for rodents, never will be, and they were here before dinosaurs.....
