on a new-to-me machine is always nervous-making. But there's new oil & filter and new coolant in the bike and all seems well.

However, the mech at the Honda dealer who put the previous oil filter on is insane; this is only the second time in my life I've wound up having to drive a screwdriver through a filter to break it loose.

Sounds like my old tendencies with oil filters, tighten it until yer knuckles are white.

Seriously folks, hand tight is OK on oil filters, makes it much easier to take off.

hand tight........place a liberal amount of fresh oil in filter and soak hand that will be applying said filter, with oil soaked hand turn to point of you cand turn with hand not slipping

now the joke is done. filters should as per directions on packaging be only hand tight, now if mechs would read directions all would be well.
