I noticed that the plugs are a little discolored, but all came apart well and the connections were clean with no build up. I wanted to make sure this is stock so I don't buy something i don't need. This is on a 98 vfr 800. Thanks,

I have a stock one sitting here on my desk and it has the same part number as your pic.

I bought and installed the Honda updated R/R shortly after I bought the bike because this one is fried. It showed no signs of melting the plugs or wires when it failed.

If I was you, I would (as a precaution) purchase a kit from Wire My Bike. His name escapes me at the moment, but he is a member here. Good guy. I bought and installed a kit from him after my R/R was fried.

Oh, just got it....his name is TIGHTWAD.

The pugs being discolored does not indicate if they are bad. Melted wires, wires that are really stiff in feel and melted plug holes are a sign of an issue.

Take Stukas advice and get the kit from wiremybike if you are worried.
